Strokes More Deadly Than HIV/AIDS

HIV/AIDS is now no longer considered one ofdangerous and deadly disease. Because, the mortality rate of this disease sufferers is quite small, only abouteight percent, much smaller than the type of cancer and other degenerative diseases.

Team doctor Intermediate Care Unit of infectious diseases (UPIPI) the RSU Dr. Sutomo, Dr. Erwin AsthaTriyono SpPD KPTI FINASIM said, even though the community considers the disease HIV/AIDS is the most dangerous and deadly, but its life expectancy is still better compared to cancer or degenerative diseases.
According to him, this product could be exceeded if people with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) were able to controlhis illness by changing patterns of life become morehealthy and the discipline of taking medication. Whatif detected early or in phase of HIV, certainly hope his life. While in this phase of AIDS usually alreadyfollowed diverse complications of diseases which can result in death.

"So eight per cent of PEOPLE LIVING with HIV who diethe most have entered a phase of AIDS. Rarely are stillin a phase of HIV died, they were thus able to live a normal life with discipline and are able to control thedisease, "he said.

Wrong Perception
During this misperception progressively in the community about the disease, HIV/AIDS is considereda frightening and deadly so obscured and its victimstend to be shut down.

Should the community should provide support and encouragement for PEOPLE LIVING with HIV to the discipline of taking medication and change her lifestyle became more healthy, so their life expectancyis much larger.

"It is difficult to change the oversight community, education and socialisation need to more activelyagain. They don't need to keep away and isolatePEOPLE LIVING with HIV, because transmission islikely to be more difficult than with tuberculosis for instance, "he explained.
Currently in UPIPI HOSPITALS Dr. Sutomo caring for1,600 patients routine medical treatment, while the number of visitors reached 2,000 people every month.Which of the 1,600 patients routine, 50 of whom werepatients and the rest were children mature, and most patients aged between 20 to 30 years. While thenumber of new inventions or new PEOPLE LIVING with HIV are detected every month around 50 people.
